The History Project is a large-scale research and discovery program initiated by Mr. Jack Wellington Goode in June of 1961 to compile a complete history, namely surrounding the transformation of education, of the city of Hawthorne in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, California.
In January 2012, students in the Documentaries Seminar at Da Vinci School of Design in Hawthorne picked up Mr. Goode's work, and began compiling data on the history of their city through independent research and interviews hosted with various occupants of the city from different points in history.
